Established in 1997, in Lafayette, this group set out to develop a “CLUB” environment for girls wanting to pursue their interest in the girls fast pitch game.

Initially, Cajun Express sponsored teams in three age groups, however quickly moved on to sponsor girls in five age groups, Girls 10, Girls 12, Girls 14, Girls 16 and Girls 18 by the year 1999.

Cajun Express’ strong desire to succeed was evident, as they structured a contract with the City of Lafayette, where Cajun Express would maintain the softball fields at Plantation Elementary School, in exchange they were given exclusive use of the facility, which provided the home for the Cajun Express to practice, and host their numerous fast pitch tournaments.

In ten years, some 800+ girls have experienced the thrill of victory and the agony of defeat, through the Cajun Express organization. 24 coaches have garned TWO STATE CHAMPIONSHIPS, and untold second place finishes, as well as TWO WORLD RUNNER-UP finishes. And more importantly, Cajun Express has hosted more than 30 USSSA events, helping to spread the USSSA cause throughout Louisiana and the Gulf Coast.
