Team Louisiana/strong>

Team Louisiana was formed in 2012, managed and coached by former Opelousas Police Chief Perry Gallow and now-retired Lt. Jody White. The team is comprised of police officers from the Alexandria Police Department, Assumption Parish Sheriff's Office, Houma Police Department, Lafayette Police Department, Lafayette Parish Sheriff's Office, Louisiana State Police, Opelousas Police Department, Marshal's Office, Pointe Coupee Parish Sheriff's Office, St. Landry Parish Sheriff's Office, and a few very talented civilians.

They regularly compete in and support benefit tournaments for Fallen Officers, Special Olympics, Boys & Girls Club of America, Kiwanis International of Opelousas, the St. Landry Abilities Tournament, USSSA tournaments, the Texas Police Games, and the granddaddy of them all, the Police World Series in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Team Louisiana has competed in the Police World Series since 2013, continuously finishing in the top 10 of their division. In 2018, Team Louisiana was crowned Police World Series Gold Division Champions, finishing #1 out of a field of 42 teams from throughout the United States and Canada. They continue to compete in the World Series and are scheduled to do so again October 9-11.

Team Louisiana is more than just softball; every player has at some point coached and mentored kids in their respective community, and most are still doing so today. Team Louisiana also assisted Chief Perry Gallow in raising well over $60,000 for the Boys & Girls Club of Opelousas, something they are extremely proud of.
